Dogs’ Home website goes live
Posted by Henrik Madsen on July 18, 2009
Every year the Dogs’ Refuge Home in Shenton Park, Perth takes in hundreds of dogs that have been abused, neglected or abandoned by their owners. Put simply, they give over 500 dogs a year a second chance at a happy life.
And that would include our dog Hamish, who we rescued from the home when he was a six-week-old puppy. He’s grown into a wonderful best friend, guard dog, office assistant and general lay-about and so what better way to say thanks to the Dogs’ Home than giving it a brand new website:
The focus of the site is two-fold: obviously to encourage people to adopt a dog but also to ask for donations, because the Home relies entirely on support from the public and sponsorship from businesses.
There are also numerous stories of successful adoptions that demonstrate how hugely rewarding it can be to give a dog a second chance.
So if you’re thinking about getting a dog - large, small or medium - do please visit the Dogs’ Home website before you go to a breeder or your local pet shop.

On behalf of the Dogs’ Refuge Home I cannot say enough how pleased and proud we are of our new site. In no time at all we have had well over 5,000 visitors who are interested enough to stay and find out more about us. The navigation is so simple to use and the design and layout is so engaging - our supporters love it and so do we!
I cannot thank you enough Henrik for all the time and effort you generously donated to make this happen - I have no doubt we will re-home more dogs because of this and will receive more donations to enable us to keep up with our work.
Many Many Thanks, Karen Rhodes, President, Dogs’ Refuge Home
